Useful Survival Guide

You can find many useful information and links to PDF files, Printable Guides, Manuals and Ebooks about survival prepping and skills on Pinterest.

That is a lot to download but if you don’t print them out, how are you going to find them useful if there is a power outage and you cannot use your computer?

Check out this, “More Show Me How” book. It is like a picture dictionary book on life skills that even your kids will find easy to understand. I bought 5 copies of it at a book fair as I thought they would make great gift for my children to giveaway to their friends. They did and their friends love the book.
You can read its first publication at the following link:
I think it would be a good idea to find books like this to learn from as and when you need to. However, if you believe that you should prepare yourself for a disaster, you should keep a list of things you should have around during such time, I find this article useful.
At the Urban Survival Site, you will also find these links useful:
Don’t wait till a disaster strike before you learn these 100 Skills that Everyone Should Know.

Find yourself and your values

What do you do with inspirational thoughts and quotes that you come across?

Some people would just keep them in a file but Avis Williams recycles them into a wonderful guide book to motivate you to find yourself and your values. She shares it on Slideshare.

Listening? Is this your hidden talent?

Let me share with you what I have read from "Getting your ideas Across" by Geoffrey Moss:

"Listening is a creative force that can influence people. When we are listened to, our ideas begin to unfold and grow within us. We tend to move towards friends who listen to us. When we are listened to, even by strangers, we feel happier and more secure. Listening is often confused with hearing. Any normal healthy person can 'hear'. Listening requires a great deal of concentration and increased energy. Our progress in life depends largely on our mastery of listening skills. We grow into our listening habits - rarely are we trained to listen."

Listening is definitely a talent I would like to cultivate. Meantime, I will learn with Geoffrey Moss' book how not to let others kill my ideas. You can borrow the book from the National Library if you cannot find it in the market. I borrowed mine from the following address:
