Philosophy Recycled Blogged and Mapped

While doing a search for a solution that I have posted on my blog, I discovered that I have been blogged. So, why would Blogged linked me on their site? Curious I did a search and discovered a write up, "Blogged.com Offers Simple Way to Find Blogs" by Search Engine News.

I may have been noticed by one of its 10 full-time editors based on any of these qualities:

1) frequency in posting
2) design
3) writing style
4) relevance to topic

If you have enjoyed what I have posted, pop by Blogged to rank me.

And if you are wondering where in the world I am located, Verve Earth has me on its world map! Zoom in on Malaysia and you will see that... what?!!!...I am in Kuala Lipis, Pahang!!! At least, now I know my IP address is somehow connected to that area. All thanks to Clayton, the CEO of VerveEarth.com, who noticed my posting on SwirlinWhirl.

No matter, to be blogged and mapped; I must have written something write. To my friends out there! Don't forget that some of these postings are the great stuff that you have been emailing me. So, thank you for sharing.

Lost your bag? What's next?

My bag has been snatched before so I know the anxiety my friend must be going through when she called to inform me that she has lost her bag. So, what should one do when you lost your bag? These are the things I did:

1) Try to recall what you have kept in your bag. Are the keys to your house in it? If they are consider changing your locks since the thief will have the address to your house just by looking at your identification card in your wallet.

2) Call relevant banks to inform them that your ATM and credit cards have been stolen.

3) Make a police report as you will need it to have MyKad re-issued. Some police stations (eg, Bandar Sungai Long) require you to go to another station (Kajang) to have your report stamped and recorded in their system. To save time, go to that station directly so that you do not have to go through the process twice. You can find the addresses of Police Stations in all states in Malaysia by doing a search on myGov Directory. I prefer to use Malaysia Central to find useful information on MyKad, such as:

How to apply
Where to apply to find a location most convenient for you. For those living withing Kajang, this is the place to go to:

Jabatan Perdaftaran Malaysia (Kajang)
Tingkat 3
Complex Hentian Kajang
Jalan Reko
43000 Kajang
Selangor
Tel : 03-87338936 / 4520

Here is a map to this location.

If you do not want to be charged by banks for replacement cards follow up by calling them to enquire where you can fax a copy of the police report with your request not to charge.

Listening? Is this your hidden talent?

Let me share with you what I have read from "Getting your ideas Across" by Geoffrey Moss:

"Listening is a creative force that can influence people. When we are listened to, our ideas begin to unfold and grow within us. We tend to move towards friends who listen to us. When we are listened to, even by strangers, we feel happier and more secure. Listening is often confused with hearing. Any normal healthy person can 'hear'. Listening requires a great deal of concentration and increased energy. Our progress in life depends largely on our mastery of listening skills. We grow into our listening habits - rarely are we trained to listen."

Listening is definitely a talent I would like to cultivate. Meantime, I will learn with Geoffrey Moss' book how not to let others kill my ideas. You can borrow the book from the National Library if you cannot find it in the market. I borrowed mine from the following address:

National Library of Malaysia
232, Jalan Tun Razak,
50572 Kuala Lumpur
Tel: (603) 26871700
Fax : (603) 26942490

Need map to location? You can find it at streetdirectory.com and SMS direction to your friends.
