News of Oil Price Slump

It is not good news for all when we hear news of oil price slumping.

Just think of countries who rely heavily on extraction of oil as their source of revenue from royalty payment and taxes.  Some oil wells will have to be abandoned if the price to extract is higher than the price to sell per barrel.  There are going to be cost cutting measures that will affect government spending as their budget surpluses from oil revenue dip.

The news also shake the job security of staff in many companies that are related to the oil and gas industry.  Those directly affected are contract staff, highly paid expatriates, contractors, suppliers and service providers to the industry.

Job loss means wage loss and with news of such layoffs, many staff from the oil and gas industry will face difficulties in getting their loans approved.  People start controlling the way they spend their money and this will ripple down to affect the other industries, such as, food, real estate, etc.

We will also see less plastic material being collected for recycling because plastics are made from oil, so, it is now cheaper for manufacturers to buy freshly made plastic.

Want to know more about the the ripple effect in the oil and gas industry? Read, "The Price Of Oil: A Comprehensive Guide To Understanding Oil (Oil prices, Crude oil prices, Shale Oil, Gas, Oil and Gas, Consumer Economics, Oil Refinery, Oil and Gas Industry, Oil Well, Oil) by Julien Chartier.

Sharing photos? Disable geotagging feature first!

If you own one, you are most likely aware that your smartphone use GPS location services to enable you to get to unfamiliar places you are driving to.  It works through a geotagging feature that can put your family members in danger if you are sharing photographs online as it can record the precise geographical information of the photos.

So, remember to disable the geotagging feature in your smartphone when you are taking photos you plan on sharing to avoid being traced to the exact location.  For more information about this, watch the following video I received and read this article "Smartphone Pictures Pose Privacy Risks?".

http vs. https (Important)

From My InBox:

Internet Security, Extremely Important
Very IMPORTANT..must know - don't do anything that is without the " s "

The main difference between http:// and https:// is all about keeping you secure

HTTP stands for HyperText Transport Protocol, which is just a fancy way of saying it's a protocol (a language, in a manner of speaking) for information to be passed back and forth between web servers and clients.

The important thing is the letter S which makes the difference between HTTP and HTTPS. The S (big surprise) stands for "Secure".

If you visit a website or webpage, and look at the address in the web browser, it will likely begin with the following: http:// . This means that the website is talking to your browser using the regular 'unsecure' language.

In other words, it is possible for someone to "eavesdrop" on your computer's conversation with the website. If you fill out a form on the website, someone might see the information you send to that site.

This is why you never, ever, ever, should enter your credit card info in an http website!

But if the web address begins with https:// , that basically means your computer is talking to the website in a secure code that no one can eavesdrop on.

You understand why this is so important, right? If a website ever asks you to enter your credit card information, you should automatically look to see if the web address begins with https:// . If it doesn't, there's no way you're going to enter sensitive information like a credit card info!

http VS https

* I checked the Tigerair http://www.tigerairways.com/home/
* And Jetstar airways http://www.jetstar.com/3k/index.html

When come to booking the ticket and keying the personal information both show https

* BOOKING
https://booking.tigerairways.com/skylights/cgi-bin/skylights. c gi
* And https://jetstar.com/skylights/cgi-bin/skylights.cgi

SO it is safe to do that booking... please remember when you buy any thing online make sure passing your information on the website showing https REPEAT https........... don't do anything that is without the " s "
