MAMMOGRAM SERVICE AT SUBSIDISED RATE

Residents of of Bandar Sungai Long at Section 4 have set up a forum on Google Group to work out issues setting up a security system and discuss how we can beautify and upgrade our neighbourhood. This is one of the useful information we get from caring neighbours.

If you are looking for a home in a safe and caring neighbourhood, look no further.
============================================================================

JUST A QUICKIE: LPPKN (or National Population and Family Development
Borad Malaysia) does offer mammogram service to local women at RM50
subsidy. the mammogram subsidy programme is carried out at private
mammogram centres through the country to make early detection of
breast cancer more accessible.

this year the centre is implementing the e-mammogram system to allow
women to pre-register online and to choose the centres that they want
to go to. the programme is targeted at women above 40. however this e-
mammogram service is NOT found in their website (www.lppkn.gov.my). i
logged in to their website and try to find out more - i couldn't even
find the centres location!

LPPKN is located at No.12B, LPPKN Building, Jalan Raja Laut, tel: 2693
7555, Fax : +603 2692 7787. their e-mail is: penduduk@lppkn.gov.my.

mammogram service provided by public hospitals are for free but many
choose to go to private hospitals because of service efficiency.

LPPKN is under the ministry of Women, Family and Community
Development. if you browse their programme carefully, you will find
that the majority of those who seek their services come from one
particular community, but of course the services are meant for all
malaysians.

LPPKN claims that they have received UN Population Award in 2007.
LPPKN's 2008 strategy is to reach out to the young, the marginalised,
NGOs as well as the private sector. such noble goals must be supported
by all Malaysians.

Debbie Chan of The Star makes the report (http://thestar.com.my/metro/
