NEDIES stands for Natural and Environmental Disaster Information Exchange System. This project is to support the Commission Services of the European Community, Member State Authorities and European Organisations and the citizens.
In their efforts to prevent and prepare for natural and technological non-Seveso disasters and to manage their consequences, NEDIES created hazard maps and shares lessons learned from disasters.
While you are there, don't forget to check out their other disaster links. Here is one by Martin Harrison.
I think this is a great project to start in any country.
